Origin: Belize, Buthan, Bolivia, Brazil, Burma, Cambodia, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guina, Gabon, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, India, Japan, Laos, Madagascar, Mexico, Nepal, Panama, Peru, Phillipines, Reunion, Russian Federation, South Africa, South Korea, Suriname, Thailand, United States, Venezuela, Vietnam


Origin: Native to India.

Pharmacological Activities: Antibacterial, Antimitotic, Antineoplastic, Diuretic, Hypoglycaemic, Hepatoprotective, Immunomodulatory, Cytoprotective and Wound healing.

Range. Widely distributed in tropics; a common weed. Found in China, Bhutan, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Rus­sia, Sikkim, Thailand, Vietnam; also tropical Africa. Widely distributed in Myanmar.

Leaf, Flower, and Seed: Used as antipyretic, aphrodisiac, and vulnerary.

A common weed, occurring throughout India.

Flowers—used in menorrhagia, blood-dysentery.
Seeds— antidiarrhoeal, also used in stomatitis.
Whole plant—antibacterial, antiscorbutic and cooling.
