Uses: wound healing, local pain.                                                 

Origin: Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Caribbean, Guatemala, Madagascar, Mexico, Peru, United States.


Whole plant: In Guyana, a tea made from the plant is used as a cold remedy.

Stem and Leaf: Branches in water for a tea used for remedying ulcers as well as bladder and vaginal infections.

Leaf: Infusion for treating fever. For treatment of thrush, hypertension, and for colds and coughs in NW Guyana.
