Bark and Leaf: Bark and leaves are boiled and the water is applied to the affected area for muscular aches and pains, by the Guyana Patamona. Bark and leaves are warmed, and used as a poultice to treat sprains, by the Guyana Patamona.

Stem: Rasped bark is rubbed on aching arms by the Surinam Wayana.

Leaf: Crushed in a decoction used as a wash for headache by the Surinam Tirio.
