Nota de alcance (en)

Stem: Bark decoction is a tonic febrifuge.

Fruit: Eaten to remedy indigestion. Used for diarrhea in NW Guyana.

Seed: In Guyana and Surinam, parched and/or peeled seeds are eaten to alleviate retention of urine, i.e., to stimulate release of urine. The fatty seed is a diuretic which must be used with caution since high dosage causes dysuria.


Range. Central America. Cultivated in Myanmar.

Bark and Seed: Used as a diuretic, tonic, and antipyretic.
