Use

Leaf: Used a as a laxative.

Origin:
Native to tropical America and Africa; cultivated in West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Punjab.

Action:
Seed—nervine tonic, analgesic.
Leaf—purgative.
The juice of flowers, mixed with sugar and black pepper, is given for biliousness.
