ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA=Pharmacological action: Estomacal.

COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA=Chemical composition: The following oils were distd. and analyzed: (1) Lippia alba: d-limonene, d-alpha-pinene, dipentene, lippione, l-piperitone, dihydrocarvone, camphor, and an unknown ketone, semicarbazone, m. 223degrees; (2) Acantholippia seriphioides: phenolic fractions amounts to 60-5% of the oil; thymol, carvacrol, p-cymene, citral; (3)Acantholippia hastulata: beta-thujone; (4) Mentha piperita: menthofuran lactone of d-isomenthone; (5) Mentha spicata: pulegone; (6) Pluchea sagitallis: d-camphene, p-cymene, d-camphor, and sesquiterpenes; (7) Artemisia mendozana: thujone, dl-camphor; (8) Psila spartioides: d-limonene, p-cymene, and several unidentified carbonyl compds.; (9) Chersodoma argentina: mainly isovaleric acid; (10) Plazia daphnoides: phenols and volatile fatty acids; (11) Blepharocalyx gigantea and B. tweediei: mainly cineole; (12) Laurelia philippiana: from barks and leaves; its main component is safrole. Secondary components in the leaves are phellandrene, cineole, linalo.ovrddot.ol, eugenol, methyleugenol, and dill apiole; and (13) Fortunella margarita: d15 8505; nD15 1.4769 alphaD  93.3; ester no. 4.4; acid no. 2.0.
