Is a tree up to 20 m in height occurring in the cloud forest at an altitude between 1500 and 2000m. Young twigs, petiole and rhachis are ferrugineous-pubescent. The compound leaves are imparipinnate and 15-20 em long. The leaflets (11-23 on each leaf) are oblong-lanceolate or oblong-elliptic, 4.5-15 em long and 2.2-6 em broad. The flowers are inconspicous, of greenish colour, and without a corolla. The folicles are 3-3.5 em long. The leaf anatomy has been described by ROTH (1992). The wood is of little use. The chemistry of the family is not known.
