Is a medium-sized herb. The species grows in the Venezuelan transitional cloud forest at altitudes of 600-900 m. The leaf anatomy has been described by ROTH (1990) . The plant is also mentioned by SCHULTES & RAFFAUF (1990), but no chemical Studies are available.
