Wax and gum are obtained. Ashes of the bark are used for infected wounds and recalcitrant ulcers of abdomen and legs. Seed oil is applied for skin diseases. Boiled leaves applied as a lotion are used for dandruffs. ROTH studied the bark structure 1981, leaf structure 1984, fruit structure and dispersal1987, leaf venation 1996 .

Stem: Latex is applied in a wrap on various dermatoses, particularly eczematous ones. Bark infusion for bathing ulcers. Used for diarrhea, thrush, and for sickness in general in NW Guyana. Exudate used for treatment of abcesses in NW Guyana.
Seed: Used to treat skin fungi in NW Guyana.
