An infusion of the leaves and twigs is used as a wash to treat hepatitis. A decoction of the leaves and twigs is used for affectations of the liver and bile (González E. 1981; González F. 1979; González F. and González S. 1980; Martánez 1969; Sánchez C. 1981).
