Leaf: leaves mashed and applied directly to "swelling and inflammation"

Leaf: Among the Surinam Tirio, the leaves are boiled and the decoction poured onto wounds caused by botfly worm. Used to treat munuri ant (Pariponera clavata) bite, snakebite, sore eyes, sores, and wounds and cuts in NW Guyana.
