Uses: dehydratation, wound healing, local pain, poor digesttion, column, inflammation, urinary congestion, diuretic, cleanse the kidneys. kidneys.                                                 

Origin: Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Caribbean, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela.

Whole plant: The Surinam Tirio use a decoction of the crushed plant as a wash for stomachache, and to wash the genitalia of persons with gonorrhoea.

Leaf: Decoction as a wash to treat coughs. Leaves are boiled and the water drunk as an anti-asthmatic, by the Guyana Patamona.
