Bark: Bark is boiled, and the water drunk for treatment of cardiac disorders, by the Guyana Patamona. Bark used in treatment of fever and hemorrhage in NW Guyana.
Stem: A cold water infusion of the bark is used by the Surinam Tirio for washing the abdomen of women giving birth, in order to relieve pain and facilitate delivery.
