Summary
Swine-cress (Coronopus didymus - Brassicaceae) is an invasive weed also considered medicinal in several regions of the American continent. Choleretic and antiinflammatory activities claimed for this species have been validated from a pharmacological point of view, while the presence of high concentrations of vitamin C in the leaves have made swine-cress interesting to the field of nutrition. On the other hand, the presence of the flavonoid chrysoeriol in the leaves increases the therapeutic potential of this species, due to the wide range of biological activities that have been described for this compound.
