Whole plant: Vine is cut into several pieces by the Surinam Tirio, for a decoction used as a wash for backache.
Stem: Anthelmintic to expel intestinal worms; decoction as remedy for falling hair. Ground and mixed with nutmeg for abdominal and stomach diseases; in an ointment with butter and ginger rubbed on tumors; mixed with sugar to treat headache and sore eyes.
