Leaf: Juice from macerated leaves is used as an antiseptic, by the Guyana Patamona. Leaves are heated and used as an emollient, by the Guyana Patamona. Macerated leaves are applied to cuts and wounds, and used as poultice for sores, by the Guyana Patamona.
Leaf and Stem: Leaves and stems are boiled, and the water drunk as a treatment for whooping cough, by the Guyana Patamona.
