Stem and Leaf: Decoction of branches has odor of the mint Melissa, and is used in tonic baths.
Leaf: The Surinam Tirio use a cold water infusion to treat headache and fevers. The Surinam Wayana use an infusion of crushed leaves as a wash to treat small skin sores.
Fruit: Bitter, astringent.
