Leaf: Macerated blades are applied to babies’ umbilical cord to prevent infection and to speed up the drying process so that it can easily fall off after birth, by the Guyana Patamona. Mashed dry leaves are also used as an antimicrobial for the umbilical cord of babies, by the Guyana Patamona.
