Stem: Rasped inner bark mixed with water and rubbed on ant bites. Decoction of crushed bark used by the Surinam Tirio to expel stomach worms. The Surinam Wayana rub the rasped bark onto testicles swollen from hernia and other causes.

Fruit: Edible, with taste like Theobroma cacao.
