Chives were brought to North America by the pioneers. Their medicinal qualities are not as
strong as those of garlic, but chives have some antiseptic effect and may lower blood pressure

Action:
Used in place of young onions. An alcoholic extract of the bulbs exhibited hypotensive and cardiac depressant activity.
