Range. From Myanmar and Indo-China to the Solomon Islands, but not in Sumatra, Java, and the Lesser Sunda Islands; also cultivated. In Myanmar, found in Taninthayi.

Uses
Bark: Utilized against fever.

Leaf: Serves as a remedy for erysipelas.

Fruit: Used to treat rheumatism.

Origin

West Coast, along back waters and evergreen forests from Maharashtra southwards to Trivandrum.

Action:

Bark—febrifuge; juice applied to skin diseases. An infusion of wood and bark is given as emmenagogue.

Seed— emetic, purgative; used for bilious fevers.

Seed oil—applied in rheumatism.

Leaves— externally in erysipelas.
