Cultivated in swampy places in Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Tamil Nadu.
Action:
Stomachic, antiemetic, antibilious, astringent, alexipharmic; used for the treatment of indigestion, biliousness, abdominal pains, vomiting, in congestion of liver.
Pericarp—in headache and stomatitis.
