Action:
Leaves and bark—expectorant (used in cough, whooping cough, and chronic bronchitis), sedative, stomachic, demulcent, antiscorbutic, diuretic.
Fresh leaves—anthelmintic.
Powder of leaves—styptic (externally).
Fruit— stomachic, antiscorbutic.
