The western Himalayas, Central and southern India.

Action:
Stimulant, expectorant and diaphoretic. Juice of fresh leaves is used in urticaria and other allergic conditions; a domestic remedy for coughs and cold. Alcoholic extract of the whole plant—antibacterial.
Essential oil----- antitubercular.
