Origin:

Action:
Fresh sap—diuretic, cooling, antiphlegmatic, laxative, antiinflammatory.
Slightly fermented juice is given in diabetes.
Palmjaggery— used as an energy food for convalscents.
Ash of dry spadix—antacid, antibilious (used in heartburn).
Young root, terminal buds, leaf-stalks—used in gastritis and hiccups.
