Origin:
Throughout the Deccan Peninsula, from Gujarat and Maharashtra southwards, and in Bihar and Orissa.
Action:
Leaves and fruits— astringent, antispasmodic; used against cough. A decoction of the root and leaves is given in flu.
Bark—antidysenteric.
