Starch—Cooling, demulcent, nutritious; used for asthma and bronchitis, as a substitute for Vansalochana (Bamboo-manna).
Oil—antibacterial, antifungal, anthelmintic against tape worms.
Rhizome—used for fever, diarrhoea, gravel, swellings and skin diseases.
