ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA= Pharmacological action: Antiotálgico (analgésico y anestésico).

COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA= Chemical composition: Previously isoleted classes of constituents. Previous studies of the Argentine Fagara/Zanthosxylum species have shown them to be rich sources of quaternary alkaloids. Coumarins were reported only from Z. coco Gill and F. riedeliana. New-isoleted constituents. F. riedeliana: Lupeol (0.0084%), norchelerythrine (0,008), (-)-hinokinin (0,006), 2-(3``,4``-methylendioxybenzyl)-3-(3`,4`-dimethoxybenzyl) butyrolactone (0,002), arctigenin methyl ether (0,005) and scoparone (0,00028). F. hyemalis: beta-amyrin (0,0107), (-)hinokinin (0,0025) and savinin (0,0075). F. pterota: 2-(3``,4``-methyllendioxybenzyl)-3-(3`,4`-dimethoxybenzyl) butyrolactone (0,0029) and norchelerythrine (0,00075).
