Origin:
Forests of tropical and subtropical India, from Himalayas as far west as Kumaon, and southwards to the Peninsula.
Action
Root—antidiarrhoeal, antidysenteric, antispasmodic, cooling, sudorific. A decoction allays thirst.
Leaves—juice of young leaves, digestive. Ointment prepared from roasted leaves relieves vertigo.
