Origin

Kashmir and Kumaon, at altitudes of 1,500 – 2700 m.

Action:

Leaves—sedative.

Seeds— diuretic, lithotriptic. A decoction of roots and twigs is given in the form of syrup in eruptive diseases, such as smallpox and measles.
