Origin
A native of Malaya; occasionally grown in gardens, especially in North India, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
Action:
Root and bark—astringent. Given in infantile diarrhoea.
Seed— febrifuge, anthelmintic, antileprotic.
Leaf—used as poultice for tumours.
