Origin
Assam, Bihar, Orissa and Deccan Peninsula. Often cultivated in parks and gardens.
Action:
Bark—digestive tonic.
Root—a decoction is used in asthma, tuberculosis and in menstrual disorders.
Leaves— boiled and used as emollient cataplasm; used as a poultice in lumbago.
