Origin

Outer Himalayas and sub-Himalayan tract from Jammu to Bhutan up to an altitude of 1,500 m, and extending through the whole of northern and central India into the greater part of Deccan Peninsula.

Bark—febrifuge, antidiarrhoeal, spasmolytic.
