Origin
Native to Moluccas, cultivated in Indonesia, also in India.
Action:
Similar to P. longum and P. nigrum. Fruits—stimulant, carminative; used in haemorrhoidal affections; as a tonic, afterchildbirth.
Roots—chewed or brewed in decoction for colic, dyspepsia and gastralgia.
