Origin
Sundarbans, in salt marshes and mangrove swamps.
Action:
Root and leaves—astringent, antipyretic; given in decoction as a diaphoretic in fevers.
Leaf— juice is given for dysentery; an infusion for lumbago, also against leucorrhoea.
Root—antiinflammatory, hepatoprotective.
