Northwestern Himalayas from Kashmir to Kumaon at 2,000 – 3,000 m.

Action:

Root—bechic.

Leaves— antitussive; applied as poultice to boils and chronic skin affections.

Seeds—antispasmodic, emetic. Used for colic, dysentery, also for haemorrhoids; applied to boils.
