PARTE UTILIZADA= Used part : Partes aéreas.
ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA= Pharmacological action
: Se lavan llagas y heridas infectadas.
COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA= Chemical composition: OBJECTIVE: To investigate the isolation and structural elucidation of the whole herb of Dichondra repens Forst. METHODS: Column chromatography of silica gel was used to separate the chemical constituents. IR, MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR were used to determine the structures of the isolated constituents. RESULTS: Seven compounds were identified by spectral analyses as β-sitosterol(I), vanillin(II), octatriacontane(III), maltol (IV), ursolic acid (V), scopoletin (VI) and umbelliferone (VII) respectively. CONCLUSION: All compounds were obtained from Dichondra repens Forst for the first time. .

DIVERSIDAD GENÉTICA Y MEJORAMIENTO DE PLANTAS MEDICINALES= Medicinal plants and improvement of medicinal herbs:
The N-terminal 40 amino acid sequences of the small subunit of ribulose biphosphate carboxylase were detd. for 13 species of Solanum, 1 other species of Solanaceae and 2 of Convolvulaceae. From these, and previously published sequences from Solanaceae, a minimal phylogenetic tree is derived. This agrees well with current taxonomy; the first dichotomy in the Solanaceae tree is between the 2 subfamilies Solanoideae and Cestroideae; within Solanum, the subgenera Solanum and Leptostemonum sep. dichotomously; within subgenus Leptostemonum, the African and Asian species diverge from the Australian. Within the Australian species of subgenus Leptostemonum, 2 unusual substitutions were noted. The implications for the hypotheses of a mol. evolutionary clock and of biogeog. dispersal by continental drift are discussed.
