Action:

Plant—sedative, hypnotic, anodyne, expectorant, diuretic. Used for nervous debility.

Seeds— used for asthma, bronchitis, cough, pertussis, fever; decoction in insomnia.

Leaves—applied to swellings.

Root—used for diseases of the respiratory tract.
