Grown in gardens for its bright-yellow flowers.

Action:

Seeds—dangerously emetocatharitc, toxic, febrifugal, stomachic. Seeds yield a fatty oil with expectorant properties. Decoction of seeds and roots is given in bilious disorders.

Leaves— emetocathartic.
