Native to tropical Africa. Grown as a avenue tree, in Coffee estates for shade.

Action:

Bark—decoction given for dysentery, gastro-intestinal and renal ailments. Pulverized bark applied to skin diseases.

Leaves— infusion administered for urethral inflammation.
