Origin

Tropical and sub-tropical parts of India, in waste places and open moist fields.

Action:

Plant—antidysenteric. Decoction, diuretic and lithotriptic, also used in scabies and psoriasis.

Seeds—used in xerostomia, throat infections and neurological affection of tongue.

Root—purgative.
