South India, also cultivated on roadsides. The West Coast from Konkan southwards.
Action:
Bark and leaf—aperient, diuretic.
Fruit—astringent.
Seed oil—carminative, laxative.
Wood— antirheumatic. The wood, boiled with seed oil, is used externally in rheumatism.
