Action:
Fruit—antirheumatic.
Aerial parat—hypoglycaemic.
Root—rubefacient.
Bark—bitter, astringent; given in dysentery, biliousness and bronchitis. A concentrate of the root infusion is applied and rubbed over painful joints. Aerial parts exhibit hypoglycaemic activity.
