Punjab, eastwards to Bengal, extending southwards into Peninsular India.
Action:
Fruit—astringent, stomachic, febrifugal; also used as a nervine tonic in tuberculosis, haemoptysis, rheumatism and paralysis. Considered invigorating in Indian medicine.
