ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA= Pharmacological action: Diaforético, antiespasmódico. 

COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA= Chemical composition: GC-MS analysis of the leaf oils of Porophyllum obscurum (Spreng.) D.C. showed the presence of 27 compounds. The main components were beta-pinene (16.3%), beta-caryophyllene (14.1%), trans-sabinene hydrate (12.8%) and undec-1-ene (l2.4%).

1) Flavonols, flavonoid glycosides and caffeoyl esters present in P. obscurum are given.  The presence of quercetagetin derivs. supports the inclusion of Porophyllum within Tageteae.
