PARTE UTILIZADA= Used part: Yemas, hojas, corteza y la resina de diferentes especies de abeto. 

ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA= Pharmacological action: Expectorante, anticéptico, respiratorio y analgésico. 

POSOLOGÍA= Posology: Infusión (yemas); dosis diaria para uso interno : 5-6g/día de drogao preparaciones equivalentes. Uso externo: 200 a 300 g, para un baño. Aceite esencial (puro o en forma de lilimentos, o como aditivo de baños o en forma de inhalaciones) : la dosis debe ser individualizada según el tipo e intencidad de la patología, zona o area a tratar y via de admionisatración.

COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA= Chemical composition: Contiene aceite escencial con concentraciones variables de bornil acetatos. En la farmacopea Frances está descrito que el aceite contiene 25-35 % de bornil acetato, 10-22 % de a-pineno, 10-15 % de 3-careno, 15-26% de canfeno y pequeñas cantidades de cineol (1-5%), limoneo (4-8 %), B-pineno(1-3%) , a-terpineol y borneol (1-5 % de cada uno).

DIVERSIDAD GENÉTICA Y MEJORAMIENTO DE PLANTAS MEDICINALES= Medicinal plants and improvement of medicinal herbs:
 
Using electrophoretic anal. of 11 enzyme systems, the authors studied the genetic structure and differentiation of eight natural populations of silver fir Abies alba Mill. in the Ukrainian Carpathians.  Of 24 isoenzyme loci identified, 66.8% proved to be polymorphic.  The mean nos. of alleles and genotypes per locus in the populations were resp. 3.1 and 4.5.  Each A. alba tree was on av. heterozygous at 15.9% of genes.  In six populations, the genotypic distribution for all of the loci examd. corresponded to Hardy-Weinberg proportions.  The populations studied had low levels of subdivision (F ST = 0.018; G ST = 0.019 ) and differentiation.  Nei's genetic distances between the A. alba populations in the region ranged from 0.002 to 0.009, being on av. 0.006.
