POSOLOGÍA= Posology: Jarabe (5-10%), simple o en asociacióncon otros béquicos o expectorantes: tres o cuatro cucharadas al día. 

COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA= Chemical composition: Benzoatos y cinamatos de alcoholes triterpénicos (75-85 %); ácidos  benzoico y cinámico libres (10-20 %); cinameína (mezcla de benzoato y cinamato de bencilo) (7-8 %), trazas de aceite esencial (vainilla, eugenol).

The invention provides methods for promoting bone and joint health with certain compns. contg. chromene and benzofuran compds. or with optionally enriched exts. of plant material comprising such compns.  The invention provides methods for the treatment or regulation of, bone and joint conditions such as joint inflammation, joint swelling, joint pain, gout, childhood arthritis, lupus arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoarthritis.

Origin

Indigenous to Venezuela, Columbia and Peru;. grown in Lal Bagh Botanic Garden (Bangalore) and Kallar (Nilgiris).

Action:

Balsam—antiseptic, stimulant and expectorant. Used as an ingredient in cough mixtures, also used as an inhalant in cases of obstinate catarrh.
