ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA= Pharmacological action: aperitivo, carminativo, espasmolitico, espectorante, bactericida y cicatrizante.
POSOLOGÍA= Posology: Uso interno: infisión al 5 %, dos o tres tazas al día . Uso externo: limpieza de las heridas con solución alcohólica de la esencia .
COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA= Chemical composition: Aceite escencial (0.5-0.7 %): cetonas (alcanfor, fenchona ), alcoholes (borneol terpinol). Taninos, resina.

Propiedades:
Antiséptico, tónico, antiespasmódico, carminativo, expectorante y emenagogo.
Origin:
Mediterranean region and Asia Minor. Dried plant and flowers are imported into Mumbai from Persian Gulf.
Action:
Flowers—antidepressive, sedative, anticonvulsant, carminative, antispasmodic, antibacterial, antiseptic. Used in depression, nervous headache, sluggish circulation, physical and mental exhaustion, insomnia, epilepsy, neuralgia and rheumatic affections.
Oil—rubefacient, antimicrobial. Used for nervous palpitations, giddiness, spasm and colic. Relieves sprains, neuralgia and rheumatism; rubbed for stimulating paralysed limbs. Applied to sores, burns, scalds and varicose veins.
Plant—used for the treatment of epilepsy and chronic sinusitis in Unani medicine.
