ÚLTIMOS AVANCES EN LA QUÍMICA Y ACTIVIDADES BACTERIOLÓGICAS EN LAS PLANTAS MEDICINALES

Fatty acids of seeds oils from A. minus and A. tomentosum were composed of linoleic acid (67-67.8%), oleic acid (15.4-20.3%), and palmitic acid (9.0-9.6%) when quant. detd. by gas-liq. chromatog. as their Me esters.  The Arctium oils were not toxic to mice and guinea pigs when administered .apprx.38 g/kg by mouth, in skin rubbing tests, and when injected s.c.

PARTE UTILIZADA= Used part: Las hojas frescas y las raiz.

ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA= Pharmacological action: Diurética, purgante, sudorífica, astringente y cicatrizante.

POSOLOGÍA= Posology: Úlceras, llagas, heridas, forúnculas y pruritos. Coger una raíz fresca. Lavarla, trocearla y cocerla durante 5 minutos. Después machacarla bien hasta hacer una pasta y aplicar sobre la parte afectada 2 veces al dia. El agua resultante de la cocción se utiliza para limpiar las llagas.

COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA= Chemical composition: Contiene minerales (ricas en potasio; la raíz contiene aceite esencial (aceite de bardana). Sales potásicas, resinas, inulina, tanino, sales de magnesio en pequeña cantidad y en las semillas, un aceite graso, además del glucósido arcticina.

Origins: Fields and pastures.

Uses: Plant is a diaphoretic, diuretic, alterative, and depurative. It is used externally in salves or as a wash for burns, skin irritations, and minor wounds.
